This multi-stage storyline introduces Dr. Kirk Langstrom, transformed into the monstrous Man-Bat, who glides menacingly across the skyline. Completing this mission requires sharp detective skills, precise tracking, and scientific synthesis to restore Langstrom to his human form.
Triggering the Initial Encounter with Man-Bat
Your journey begins unexpectedly while grappling across the rooftops of Miagani Island. A sudden screeching jump-scare marks the arrival of Man-Bat, adding the Creature of the Night quest to your Gotham City Most Wanted menu. Once triggered, Batman must track the creature's high-altitude flight path across the city's stormy skies.
To progress, glide above Man-Bat and execute a dive-tackle from higher ground to bring him down. After wrestling the beast onto a rooftop, Batman retrieves a blood sample, which reveals Dr. Kirk Langstrom's identity and sets your next objective in motion.
Investigating Langstrom's Laboratory
With the blood sample secured, head to Langstrom's laboratory located in Chinatown on Bleake Island. Inside the facility, search for computer records that detail his tragic experiments with vampire bat DNA. This step is essential for understanding the mutation and synthesizing a workable cure.
Interacting with the lab computer initiates a DNA sequencing puzzle. Players must rotate the double-helix strands to isolate clean DNA sequences while avoiding contaminated samples. Successfully completing the mini-game creates the synthesized cure needed to reverse the transformation.
Synthesizing and Administering the Cure
After crafting the cure, return to the skies to locate Man-Bat once again. Listen for his distinct screeching sound effect or use Detective Mode to spot his glowing heartbeat against the dark backdrop of Gotham. Glide down and tackle him a second time to administer the first dose of the anti-serum.
Although the initial dose weakens the monster, it is not enough to reverse the mutation completely. Man-Bat breaks free, requiring Batman to track him down one final time across Founders' Island to finish the treatment.
Concluding the Most Wanted Mission
Locate the creature a third time to deliver the final dose of the cure. Once administered, Man-Bat reverts back into a remorseful Dr. Kirk Langstrom. Batman then places Langstrom into the back of the Batmobile to transport him safely to GCPD lockup.
Locking Langstrom inside an isolation cell at the police station successfully completes the Creature of the Night mission. This awards Gotham Most Wanted completion percentage and upgrade points to enhance Batman's gadgets and combat abilities.
